Update: Easter in Nairobi, April, 2006

Finally we are online again! Apologies for the long wait! Here follows a handful of Elliott's experiences since leaving Australia, crossing the oceans via Sri Lanka, to finally land in Nairobi! Since then, Elliott now has two teeth (picture evidence to follow in the next update!), has had his first temperature (38.4 C), learned to roll over, and to sit up without support (although still a bit shaky sideways). Now he spends most of his time on his belly, trying to figure out how to crawl (if only I could push against something!) and keeps his Mamma and Pappa up at night with long orating sessions (probably sharing information about the development of additional teeth). Mamma is not so happy about his new affinity for grabbing and pinching, especially when he is eating, ouch! He likes to experiment with the voice vibrato in the car on bumpy roads and may be a little horticulturalist in the making, judging by the interest in the flowers of the garden! Since Mamma has got to go to work every day, she is happy that Elliott loves hanging out with Janet, his nanny and new found friend, who sings and plays a lot. Now that we have moved into the house (with a rented baby cot for the time being) Elliott sees Mamma at lunch at home instead of at work!

  • Hey Elliott:

Great photos and what a fabulous update: you are so cute, Elliott! And mama and papa look pretty good too! Wonderful for us, too, to see Sam and Bob -- Sam looks well after his travels.

Hope you had a great time at Susan's yesterday -- and perhaps you took a photo or three??? Would love to see them!

    Big hugs to all

    Tena
